Annnnd....we're back!!

Heyyy all!

Ok, I'm such a noob with this whole social media thing - I'm realizing now that it's best to keep this blog open and running, so I'm BACK! I'm going to try to update here as much as possible, along with tumblr and FB sites. I'm kind of a dinosaur when it comes to social media :/ I love the internet, but it's hard to keep up with all these sites! But, do as the Romans do...I'll try to do it all!!

Will post stuff soon! Stay tuned!

Thanks!

Heyyy,

Just wanted to let you guys know that I will be moving most of my posts and work to my Facebook Art Page and Tumblr blog from here on out. I've been resisting the move because I'm slow with change (clearly) and have a lot of work on here, but it's just easier to go back and forth between FB and Tumblr. Thank you guys so much for supporting this blog!! If you still want to follow my work and other posts, please click 'like' on my page to continue getting updates from Facebook.

Thanks again for your support and see you on FB!

Please Vote '5' for my design!

I submitted a T-shirt design for the Tegan and Sara Threadless Design Challenge (Tegan and Sara are a twin duo indie band*). Please vote '5' for my design - it's the last 3 days! My motivation behind winning is to donate half of the proceeds to the SJSU Animation/Illustration program, where I studied and received my art education. They are in dire need of funding, and I felt this could be a great way to make some art and donate more than I could normally afford (but winning is necessary to do this!).

Please click the link below to vote for my submission, Heartthrob(s)**:

Below are the final design and thumbnail sketch on a napkin (while eating at Jong Ga House in Oakland - good eats, btw!):

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, please feel free vote for other designs you might like :)

If you would like to donate to SJSU's Animation/Illustration program separately: http://bit.ly/sjsuai_donation

Please feel free to forward! The more votes I get, the closer I get to donating...BIG. Thanks so much for your time and support!!!

Kauai Sketches, Part 2

Part 2 of my Kauai sketches...These were mostly done at the hotel where i wasn't bitten up by mosquitoes and could sit more comfortably. There was a koi pond I really liked and I have two sketches from that location. These took about 45-60 min with gouache and watercolor paper. Enjoy and thanks for looking! :)

Kauai Paint Sketches, Part 1

I took a vacation to Kauai a few weeks ago and brought along some gouache and watercolor paper to do some analog art! My first time with gouache! It had been a long time since I had done any plein air painting and I have been very inspired by Nathan Fowkes' class to do some. Most of these are about 45min to an hour. I tried to go quickly, but I was on island time ;p Kauai is a beautiful place and I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to paint there. I definitely made a lot of mistakes, learned a lot, and enjoyed the process. More to come...

(I actually got a lot of mosquito bites at this particular location, Na'Pali Coast. Really beautiful, but so deadly!! 24 bites!! I think I lasted for 30 minutes and ran out of there, scratching my legs...-_____-)

Lulu

My friend and co-worker, Ben Sanders, has an adorable French Bulldog named, Lulu. I love her and felt inspired to do some sketches :) She's a complete lap dog and doesn't drool, bark, whine, or bite. She has this really cute way of sitting, it's like a kneel actually so that her back legs flip back. She keeps the team happy and I get to sit next to her everyday! For you, Lulu!! XD
